Carter Krier

Founder & Director of Goaltender Development

Carter is currently an Assistant and Goaltending Coach for The Ohio State Buckeyes in the NCAA. 


Carter turned straight towards a career in coaching after finishing his playing career. As a 19 year old, Carter was the Director of Goaltending Development for East Grand Forks Hockey and also an Assistant Coach & Goalie Coach for the Varsity Team.  Carter additionally helped with the Sanford Power of the Upper Midwest High School Elite League. He held those positions for three years. 


In 2020,  Carter was hired to be the Goaltending Coach for the Fargo Force of the United States Hockey League (USHL) and is currently in his fourth season with the team. In 2022, Carter was promoted to the Assistant Coach & Goaltending Coach. 


Carter was also named as an Assistant Coach for Team USA for the World Junior A Challenge in Nova Scotia. The team went 5-1 and brought home a Bronze Medal. 


With the Fargo Force, Carter continues to help develop the goaltenders on a daily basis.  Carter has played a role in several different goaltenders earning NCAA Division 1 scholarships to play hockey, including: 


- Andrew Miller - Minnesota State Mankato (2021) 

- Brennan Boynton - University of Minnesota (2021)

- Zach Sandy - University of Minnesota Duluth (2022)

- Louden Hogg - College of Holy Cross (2022)

- Matej Marinov - Quinnipiac University (2023) 

- Anton Castro - University of Wisconsin (2023) 

- Trent Wiemken - Bemidji State University (2023)

- Hampton Slukynsky - Northern Michigan University (2023)


The following are the records/awards won by the Fargo Force goalies during the 2020 -2021 season:


- Western Conference Champions 

- USHL Goaltender of the Week (x4)

- All - USHL Third Team Honors

- Fargo Force Ace Brandt MVP

- 2nd Longest Shutout Streak in USHL Playoff History (149:41) 


In the 2022-2023 season, the Force goalies have won multiple goaltenders of the week and USHL awards.


- USHL Goaltender of the Week (Anton Castro)

- USHL Goaltender of the Week (Matej Marinov) x4 

- USHL ALL-SECOND TEAM (Matej Marinov) 


In the 2023-2024 season, the Fargo Force goalies won many awards.


- USHL Goaltender of the Week (Anton Castro)

- 4x USHL Goaltender of the Week (Hampton Slukynsky)

- USHL Goaltender of the Year

- ALL-USHL FIRST TEAM Goaltender


The Fargo Force were also the 2022-2023 Anderson Cup Champions and the Western Conference Champions., and the 2023-2024 Aneerson Cup Champions and the Clark Cup Champions!
